The Hans Foundation expanding COVID-19 relief initiatives across the country

 COVID-19 pandemic has become an emerging global health crisis affecting everyone especially the marginalised sections of the communities. This sudden outbreak and the lockdown has already created an enormous medical and financial burden on dozens of migrant labourers, daily wage earners, farmers, and informal sector workers and has left them struggling for managing even a square meal a day. Hospitals and medical fraternity arealso facing shortage of protective gear, facilities and equipment. Every day the number of reported cases and deaths are rising at an alarming rate. The Hans Foundation (THF), one of India’s largest public charitable trust along with its partners – Govt. of Uttarakhand, VARDAN, American India Foundation, GRAVIS, Masoom Charitable Trust, Aasraa Trust, BAIF Development Research Foundation, Goonj, Akshaya Patra Foundation and many other partners are conducting relief support drives for those affected and also helping the hospitals and the front line workers. Presently the work has started for the vulnerable communities in the interior regions of Bihar, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Kolkata, Uttar Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, West Bengal and Sikkim to combat the multitude problems caused at the national level by COVID-19 pandemic. The Foundation with its partners is providing nutritional kits/ration kits to the families of migrants, daily wage earners, informal sector workers and healthcare kits to the frontline health workerspartial salary and medi claims, ventilators and even helping in setting up isolation centres. Additionally, to help multiply the efforts to help the needy, THE HANS FOUNDATION PLEDGES TO MATCH THE EQUAL AMOUNT TO EVERY RUPEE CONTRIBUTED TO THE FOUNDATION’S COVID RELIEF PROGRAMS. To know more about the process, kindly visit http://thehansfoundation.org/donate

By adhering to all safety and hygiene measures, The Hans Foundation has been working on providing relief services in the form of food kits, hygiene kits (includes N-95 face masks, Sanitizers, Gloves etc.) Protective equipment, ventilators etc. Isolation centres for quarantines have also been set up in Sikkim. A special focus has been on the most vulnerable sections of the communities like migrants, slum dwellers, persons with disabilities, elders, single mothers and also the frontline service providers. In a time like this the government, civil society and private sector has to come together to fight against these crises. The Foundation has been working with the govt. of Uttarakhand to provide the necessary support to remote areas. THF has pledged a sum of INR 1 crore and 51 lacs to the govt. for ration kits, medical support and PPE kits. In collaboration with Americares, ventilators have been provided in Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Kerala for emergency response for COVID 19 patients. Several initiatives like these are being carried by THF through their partners working in interior locations. Close to two lakh people have benefitted presently with the distribution of food and hygiene kits in ten states across the country and the support is being extended to other states as well.

Prosenjit Chatterjee stars in Tata Pravesh’s 2nd series of influencer films

  Earlier this month, Tata Pravesh, embarked on a multi-media campaign titled #AkelaHiKaafiHai, in an attempt to drive brand awareness and consideration about a new category of steel doors and windows, with Gajraj Rao as its brand ambassador.  The brand then followed this up with its first ever influencer film featuring VVS Laxman. The second film in its influencer series, features Bengali cinema’s reigning superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee and draws inspiration from Satyajit Ray’s Nayak (The Hero).   Conceptualised by Wunderman Thompson South Asia in association with SVF Brands, the film is shot in Prosenjit’s apartment.  It is a nod to the opening sequence of Satyajit Ray’s Nayak (The Hero) in which the then superstar of Bengali cinema, Uttam Kumar, was getting ready to leave his home. The film attempts to recreate that sequence albeit in a contemporary setting. Incidentally, Ray had shot the sequence in a house in Kolkata which is now Prosenjit’s residence.   Prosenjit takes us on a tour of his apartment as he talks about another superstar - another nayak - with whom he shares his home. Someone who can walk through fire, unharmed. Someone whose stardom is not threated by anything. Viacom18 appoints Kunal Gaur as Chief Commercial Officer

     Viacom18 today announced the appointment of Kunal Gaur as Chief Commercial Officer. Kunal will be taking over from Utpal Das who ends his stint at Viacom18 on 31stMarch 2021.   Through the past 7. 5 years, Utpal Das has led the Commercial, Facilities & Corporate Services functions at Viacom18. He was instrumental in not only shaping and leading these functions but also towards building Viacom18 into one of India’s top media networks through his role as a key member of the company’s leadership team.   Kunal Gaur, a Chartered Accountant by qualification, has over 19 years of experience across organisations like Star India, Netflix & PWC. Prior to joining Viacom18, Gaur was a part of the Netflix India’s leadership team in the capacity of Director, Production Finance where he was instrumental in crafting budgeting strategies and leading production finance for all original series, film, non-fiction and documentaries.   Kunal Gaur will be reporting into Rahul Joshi, MD, Network18.
