Criteo comes up with new solution to increase engagement in campaigns

Criteo S.A., the global technology company powering the world's marketers with trusted and impactful advertising, has announced global availability of its marketing solution for traffic generation, which helps advertisers connect with new audiences to drive engagement and increase website traffic.

The launch expands Criteo’s portfolio beyond lower-funnel retargeting and includes over 300 in-market audiences that retailers and brands can tap into.

According to Criteo data, an average user will spend up to four weeks deciding on the right brand for their needs, and 73% of people are willing to consider a completely new brand during their decision-making process.

Criteo now allows marketers to take advantage of this significant opportunity. With real-time, first-party data and Criteo’s AI Engine, marketers can reach and engage with users at the precise moment that they are ready and willing to discover new brands.

Karsten Weide, Program Vice President, Media & Entertainment at IDC said, “There is a huge opportunity for programmatic vendors, but especially for those that are big in retargeting, such as Criteo, to branch out from performance marketing to upper-funnel brand campaigns designed to drive consideration. IDC estimates almost half of all digital ad spend in the U.S. was brand-related in 2019, a $70B potential of which large parts are untapped by vendors previously focused on direct-response advertising.”

  The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), one of the apex trade associations of India concluded the tenth edition of the ‘Illness to Wellness’ series themed webinar on ‘Digestive Health In COVID-19 Era’. The event saw an elite panel of leading gastroenterologists discuss the possible transmission of Coronavirus through fecal-oral transmission and the viability of a COVID vaccine. Supported by the hygiene brand SAVLON, the programme, an innovative and comprehensive approach to cascade awareness through wellness campaigns to address preventive healthcare management and to promote health, hygiene, and well-being of people, the webinar saw renowned panelists speak at length on how the number of patients experiencing GI symptoms exceed those suffering from respiratory symptoms. Speaking on the issue, Padma Shri Dr.(Prof) D.K. Bhargava, Senior Consultant, Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Indraprastha Apollo Hospital said, “Gastrointestinal tract can also serve as a route of transmission for COVID-19. Although, it has not been proven completely, scientific evidence points to the probability of fecal-oral transmission serving as another route. Symptoms of these are mostly nausea, anorexia, vomiting, abdominal distension and diarrhea in about 20% of cases. Sometimes, in close to 50% of cases, intestinal symptoms precede respiratory symptoms. It has been documented that in more than 50% cases, the stool samples of COVID-19 positive patients contain RNA and nucleic acid particles. They represent the presence of the virus in the stool so the fecal-oral transmission can occur. So, one should be very careful when handling this stool. In some cases, it has been documented that patients may not have any respiratory symptoms but showcase only gastrointestinal tract symptoms.” Padma Shri Dr. Saumitra Rawat, Chairman and Head Surgical Gastroenterology & Liver Transplant, Sri Ganga Ram Hospital further elaborated on the topic saying, “Patients having GI symptoms are usually having milder symptoms of COVID-19 than those experiencing respiratory tract symptom. For patients who have the virus is in the respiratory tract, the stool sample remains positive for about 15 days and then the patient becomes negative. The fecal sample positivity for patients showing GI symptoms usually lasts for nearly 28 days, so strong precautions need to be taken. Though the GI symptoms start early, sometimes, the respiratory symptoms can develop later. In some cases, the patient may have only GI symptoms. And even if the patient continues to have GI symptoms then it is of milder form.” Commenting on how poor lifestyle choices of Indians contribute to gastrointestinal issues, Mr. Anil Rajput, Chairman, ASSOCHAM CSR Council said, “In India, unhealthy eating habits, poor lifestyle, unclean water and improper sanitation has led to a surge in digestive disorders. It is well known that stress and anxiety, high blood sugar, insomnia and other degenerating habits can alter and damage the gut microbiome. Taking precautions against these is of greater importance in the backdrop of the pandemic. Besides having a balanced diet, incorporating pre- and pro-biotic supplements can go a long way in improving and maintaining digestive health. Curd in that regard is extremely beneficial but in today’s hostile environment, many might need stronger supplements.” Dr. Rajesh Kesari, Founder and Director, Total Care Control who moderated the webinar by placing poignant questions before the panelists, added to the discussion by sharing a recent study he had come across. “A survey by IMA said that when they surveyed about thousand COVID positive patients, they found that most of the patient’s family members had GI symptoms that did not progress to fever and other problems. However, for one or two family members, it did progress further. The other symptoms they faced were loss of taste and loose motion.” The panelists also spoke at length about the world’s COVID vaccine readiness by sharing details of the various stages of development being carried out across the world. Dr. Vasudevan K.R., Senior, Consultant & Head Liver Transplantation & GI Surgery, Institute of Gastroenterology & Liver Transplant, PSRI Hospital though warned, that a vaccine does not necessarily mean that it will provide complete protection against COVID infection. “The intention of the vaccine is to try and minimize the burden of the disease on the population and the healthcare system. It is not a cure. As a patient, if you expect that a tablet or an injection can keep you safe from the virus by not taking any precautions then you are very wrong. The purpose of the vaccine is such that even if you do get infected, you get COVID in a milder form. We hope that the vaccine is there soon and whenever it is there, the existing fear will be gone. Also, the phenomenon of not being able to provide ICU beds due to the overburdening situation will be controlled and reduced. We will get on with life, but the fact is that we can not stop wearing masks because a vaccine has been created. Precautions will still have to be taken,” he said. Speaking on the importance of developing immunity, the panelists agreed that maintaining a balanced diet with immune-boosting food items such as green leafy vegetables, citrus fruits along with optimal calorie intake, unsaturated fat oils, and low sugar can help in the long battle against COVID. They also suggested taking additional supplements for those needing it to maintain a healthy microbiome in the intestine.

NTPC ties up JPY 50 billion funding from JBIC

    In the first funding for NTPC Ltd under Japan Bank for International Co-operation (JBIC)’s GREEN or Global Action for Reconciling Economic growth and Environment preservation initiative, India’s largest power producer today entered into foreign currency loan agreement with Japanese Government’s financial institution for JPY 50 billion (approx. USD 482 million or Rs. 3,582 crore). JBIC will provide 60% of the facility amount and the balance will be given by commercial banks (viz., Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, the Bank of Yokohama Ltd., the San-In Godo Bank Ltd., the Joyo Bank Ltd. and The Nanto Bank Ltd.), under JBIC guarantee. The facility is extended under JBIC’s outreach for projects, which ensure conservation of global environment. The loan proceeds shall be utilized by NTPC for funding its capex for Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) & Renewable Energy projects. FGD, substantially reduces the SOx emission in the flue gases of thermal power plants and is a critical step towards environmental sustainability.   The loan agreement was signed by Shri Anil Kumar Gautam, Director (Finance), NTPC and Mr. TANIMOTO Masayuki, Managing Executive Officer, Global Head of Infrastructure & Environment Finance Group, JBIC through video conferencing.

  Salesforce, the global leader in CRM, today released the fourth edition of its State of the Connected Customer report which reveals that while a string of crises has affected all facets of life, including a fundamental shift in how customers connect with brands, factors like empathy, personalization, convenience, and digital transformation are the keys to customer relationships.   The much-awaited festive season is already showing signs of growth spurts across popular spend categories with the recent online and offline sales marking the start of the festive season. However, with the uncertainties of current times and changing behaviour patterns, it is important to get a pulse of the real consumers to understand emerging trends. Basis insights from a survey conducted on travel loyalists (frequent travellers over the last 2 years), domestic travel is expected to see some revival, especially short or weekend travel. Top choices for travel mode were flights or self-drive while safety and precautions were rated as the top preference as opposed to deals, which used to swing the vote previously.   This was revealed in a recent study conducted jointly by India’s largest multi-brand loyalty program, PAYBACK and its digital research partner, Unomer. The study examined the sentiments, preferences and outlook of around 1000 respondents regarding Travel in the festive season, post Covid. The respondents were chosen basis their travel behavior in the past 2 years, in the age group of 25 to 50 years across 12 cities including all Metros and few Tier 1’s, with varying income thresholds. Some of the key takeaways are listed below:   Short travel breaks rule 2020 Since the first unlock, nearly 40% of the respondents have either gone back to their hometowns or for a weekend getaway. In the festive season, more than 20% respondents are planning a vacation with nearly one third respondents in South & North India planning their trips. Nearly three-fourth of respondents chose domestic holidays, mostly a weekend or short getaways to nearby destinations. Long vacations and international holiday are off the table for the rest of 2020. Female respondents preferred long trips as opposed to male respondents who chose short vacations.   Females fasten the self-drive mode for short holidays Nearly 50% respondents during the initial phases of unlock chose self-drive as the preferred mode for short holiday travels with young females leading the pack. North, West & South regions lead the preference for self-drive as trains or buses become the least likely choice (15%) even for short trips or getaways. However, in last few weeks, travel by flights is also seeing an uptick, specifically in the East & West regions garnering 50% preference.   Less than one-fourth frequent travelers plan to loosen their purse strings this year More than 40% consumers will be spending less than last year this festive season, followed by 35% at same level and only 20% planning to spend more this year only in the higher annual income households. Respondents in South cities chose to spend more followed by North India.   Deals take a backseat as safety and ratings become driving factors Nearly two-third of the respondent are booking their travel itineraries via online booking platforms vs the traditional travel agents.  Close to 60% respondents have either booked or plan to book hotels for vacation stays and among them, nearly three-fourth are looking at safety precautions (higher than any other aspect), sanitization certificates and high star ratings as key booking criteria, as opposed to affordable rates, deals & offers which would swing the vote earlier. Over 60% respondents plan to go on vacation with their family followed by 25% wanting to go with friends. Solo trips still do not find many takers (9%).   Less travel means more for home consumption Other than holiday travel spend, other discretionary spends are also getting saved or diverted. There is growing preference for large & small appliances (60%) which emerged as an overwhelming choice, along with apparels (59%), followed by mobiles (45%) and home decor/improvement (37%). Respondents in South India have shown preference for large appliances and mobiles, whereas in North, West and East regions have shown preference for small appliances and home improvement.   PAYBACK members have been active on shopping across several spend categories and the platform has been collaborating with top brands to decide the right customer engagement and retention strategies. This means that for every 10 million smartphones, Huawei saves 550 tons of paper, which is equivalent to saving 9,350 trees.   Over the past decade, Huawei Consumers BG has been working with developers, suppliers and industry associations to proactively engage in sustainable development. For instance, the company has been helping suppliers with carbon emission investigation, and results show that 25 suppliers have reduced carbon emission by 540,000 tons in 2019. Huawei Consumer BG had also conducted face-to-face conversations with more than 15,000 frontline factory workers to learn about their living and working conditions, and have been working to ensure that they are living and working in healthier and safer environments.   The publishing of the report sets a new bar for sustainability and corporate responsibility. V-Guard’s Q2 FY 2020-21 Revenue remained flat Y-o-Y

  India’s leading consumer electrical and electronics company, V-Guard Industries Ltd., announced its unaudited financial results for the quarter ended September 30, 2020. Highlights:  Consolidated Net Revenue from operations for the quarter ended September 30, 2020 was Rs. 623 crores; revenues remained at the same level as that of corresponding period of previous year (Rs.623.27 crores)     Consolidated Profit After Tax for the quarter ended September 30, 2020 was Rs.51.62crores; a decline of 12% over corresponding period of previous year (Rs.58.75 crores)     Q2 results for FY 20 included a one-off write back of Rs 10.12 Cr related to ESOP provisions. The corresponding amount in Q2 FY 21 is Rs 2.6 Cr.    Cashflow from operations continues to be strong, arising from prudent working capital management. Pumps, Fans and Digital UPS categories performed well during the quarter. The company also launched Water Purifier, Breakfast Appliances and Kitchen Hobs & Chimneys during the period under review. The Company has comprehensive safety protocols to deal with the Covid pandemic. Our plants and warehouses are operating with full compliance to such protocols. Most of our people in office-based roles continue to work from home.     Commenting on the company’s performance, Mr. Mithun. K. NTPC ties up JPY 50 billion funding from JBIC

    In the first funding for NTPC Ltd under Japan Bank for International Co-operation (JBIC)’s GREEN or Global Action for Reconciling Economic growth and Environment preservation initiative, India’s largest power producer today entered into foreign currency loan agreement with Japanese Government’s financial institution for JPY 50 billion (approx. USD 482 million or Rs. 3,582 crore). JBIC will provide 60% of the facility amount and the balance will be given by commercial banks (viz., Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, the Bank of Yokohama Ltd., the San-In Godo Bank Ltd., the Joyo Bank Ltd. and The Nanto Bank Ltd.), under JBIC guarantee. The facility is extended under JBIC’s outreach for projects, which ensure conservation of global environment. The loan proceeds shall be utilized by NTPC for funding its capex for Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) & Renewable Energy projects. FGD, substantially reduces the SOx emission in the flue gases of thermal power plants and is a critical step towards environmental sustainability.   The loan agreement was signed by Shri Anil Kumar Gautam, Director (Finance), NTPC and Mr. TANIMOTO Masayuki, Managing Executive Officer, Global Head of Infrastructure & Environment Finance Group, JBIC through video conferencing.
